On today’s edition of Advice from the Architect, we’ll talk about how to determine the size of your new home windows.

Proportion is key.

Balance is the result.

In the same way that God designed our face; with our eyes, nose, & mouth in proportion to our head.

Your doors and windows need to be proportionally set when looking at the exterior of your home.

The location and size of the window is first determined by your interior floor plan.

But you must look from the outside for a final decision on the scale.

Factors such as elevation, roof pitch, and porches must be considered to determine the size of your window.
